On other side, a demand began to recover, and already in April, the turnover of one retail outlet increased by 30% on average compared to pre-war time. First of all, this is related to population growth, the return of immigrants to Ukraine (3,9 million as on 19 July 2022) and increase of population density in the western regions. There are still many single men in the cities whose families are currently abroad or in the western regions of Ukraine, the male audience of coffee shops has increased from 55% to 85%. And the third factor is a decline in population incomes. Ukrainians prefer a cheaper, high-calorie and affordable snack “on the move”. Restaurants change their format to mobile street outlets, and the street food market players look for a new product and reliable partners.
